"Ode to Man" and "What a piece of work is man" share a few similarities. They both state that man is only defeated by death. A qoute from "Ode to Man," "He has made himself secure- from all but one. In the late wind of death he cannot stand." This explains how man can be protected from anything in the world except for death. In "what a piece of work is man" it says, "And yet to me, what is this quintessence of dust?" This says that man is only a pile of dust that blows along with the wind. We come and go throught the world like a pile of neverending dust. The man itself dies, but a new generation continues. From Antigone,"Yeilds to his prows, the huge crests bear him high." This quote describes how everything in the world looks up to man and praises him in all of his glory. This is similiar to Hamlet's quote "What a piece of work is a man, how noble in reason, how infinite in faculties, in form and moving, how express and admirable in action, how like an angel in apprehension, how like a god: the beauty of the world, the paragon of animals." This quote means, man is a wonderful piece of work with great intelligence in the shape of an angel and god, that contains the most perfection out of all the animals.
My view on humanity is that we are all part of a life cycle. We may seem like the highest group of spieces in the world but i think we are equal with the plants, animals, and nature itself, because we use their resources to help stay alive, and so do they. We play a bigger part in the world because we have the most intelligence out of everything else in the world. We hold most of the power because of the knowledge we gain overtime. Some of our weaknesses is when we have to much power, we tend to abuse our powers. For example, Adolf Hitler had gained a lot of power, and convince the people of his country that jewish people were bad and must be destroyed. He used his power for evil when he could have used it for good, and we could have prevented WWII that lead to millions of tragic deaths.
In conclusion, Man usually has most of the power in the world, but i see it as man taking more advantage over the world than the other organisms. Man can do many things with its intelligence such as building shelter, weapons, food, technology, transportation, and more. In the end we all die a death we can never defeat, so different people all over the world die when a newborn baby comes to life to start a new generation in life. we are part of a life cycle that evolves around the world, where the world holds the most power of all, because without the worlds nutrients we wouldn't be able to survive.
